This subway station entrance on the 3rd Ring Road in Beijing will be tendered for construction, and its opening is expected.

At the end of the year before last, the Subway Line 12, known as the "Underground North 3rd Ring Road", was put into operation. Among its stations, only 3 out of the 4 entrances/exits of Madianqiao Station were opened, and Entrance C has remained closed to this day due to ongoing reconstruction works.

However, there are numerous residential communities surrounding Entrance C, which is located at the southeast corner of Madianqiao Station. The opening timeline of Entrance C directly affects the travel convenience of local residents.

Recently, a tender announcement plan published on the Beijing Public Resources Trading Service Platform shows that the tender for Contract Section 29 of the Civil Engineering Construction of Rail Transit Line 12 will be released next month. This project refers to the integrated reconstruction of Entrance C of Madian Station (the former project name) on Line 12. Upon the completion of the project, Entrance C of Madianqiao Station will be officially opened.

Known as the "Underground North 3rd Ring Road", Line 12 runs through all key traffic nodes along the North 3rd Ring Road. With a total length of approximately 30 kilometers, it starts from the south of Sijiqing Bridge on the West 4th Ring Road in the west and ends at Dongba North Station in the east, serving as a major east-west rail transit line laid mainly along the North 3rd Ring Road.

On December 15, 2024, the first phase of Line 12 was opened for operation. Madianqiao Station on the line is located near Madianqiao on the North 3rd Ring Road. The station was originally designed with 4 entrances/exits, but currently only Entrances A, B and D are open, while Entrance C remains closed due to ongoing reconstruction construction.

As can be seen from the map above, among the four entrances/exits of Madianqiao Station, Entrance C is surrounded by the largest number of residential communities. Therefore, the opening of Entrance C is critical for local residents to access the subway in the most convenient way.

According to the tender plan released on the Beijing Public Resources Trading Service Platform, Contract Section 29 of the Civil Engineering Construction of Rail Transit Line 12 is exactly the integrated reconstruction project for Entrance C of Madian Station, which is the housing reconstruction work for Madian Station, specifically the reconstruction of buildings demolished during the original subway construction.

The project covers all works specified in the design drawings, including the foundation and base works, main structure, architectural decoration, roofing, building water supply and drainage & heating, ventilation and air conditioning, building electrical systems, intelligent building systems, building energy conservation, as well as outdoor works for the integrated reconstruction of Entrance C.

The estimated total investment of the project is about 11.52 million yuan. After the completion of the construction, Entrance C of Madianqiao Station will be opened, making subway travel more convenient for surrounding residents.
