Chuyiqing New Energy was founded in September 2024. Currently, the company's main business is truck parking batteries. Its founder, Zou Hai, was one of the first members of the startup team at CATL. Zou Hai told 36Kr that the main reasons for choosing to focus on truck parking batteries are as follows: "The power battery and large-scale energy storage industries are capital-intensive and labor-intensive fields. Focusing on innovative applications in niche markets can effectively avoid direct competition with leading enterprises in the lithium battery industry.

As of the end of 2023, the number of trucks in China had exceeded 12 million, of which more than 5 million were used for inter-provincial transportation. The price of a single truck parking battery is about several thousand yuan. Based on this calculation, the market size can reach tens of billions of yuan, which is quite attractive.

After choosing the track, Chuyiqing New Energy aims to capture a larger share of the existing fuel truck parking battery market with the selling point of "new energy + intelligence". So far, Chuyiqing New Energy has two product lines and five products under research, four of which have been mass-produced and installed in vehicles. All of the company's products are equipped with 4G + IoT modules, which can transmit and monitor battery operation data in real time, thus solving the pain point of the "black box" problem of lead-acid batteries.

The first product line of Chuyiqing New Energy, "Qizhubao", is specially developed for the long-distance transportation scenarios of medium and heavy trucks, focusing on meeting the needs of starting and parking air conditioners. Chuyiqing New Energy observed that "if lead-acid batteries are used and the driver turns on the air conditioner while parking, the fuel cost can reach dozens of yuan a night, and the driver is often kept awake by the noise." "So we developed a lithium battery with a 4G + module, which can provide stable power supply and allow the air conditioner to run all night without starting the engine. This can save drivers hundreds of yuan in fuel costs every month. Drivers can also check the remaining battery power through their mobile phones."

Products of Chuyiqing New Energy

The second product line, "Jinsubao", is a batch of customized products developed by Chuyiqing New Energy for KuaYue Express Group. "It corresponds to the largest market at present and is also the core application direction for Chuyiqing New Energy to promote the intelligent upgrade of logistics enterprises."

When KuaYue Express chose the parking battery products of Chuyiqing, in addition to the product performance and quality, it also valued Chuyiqing's digital collaboration ability. From the beginning of the project, Chuyiqing connected with KuaYue Group's digital operation system. By monitoring the power generation and consumption data of the whole vehicle in real time, it can intelligently predict potential faults of the battery and other on-board electrical equipment, and arrange vehicle maintenance in advance, thus avoiding problems such as safety and freight efficiency caused by breakdowns on the way.

KuaYue Express Group expects to replace the lead-acid batteries of its thousands of trucks with the lithium batteries of Chuyiqing in the future to expand the scope of intelligent operation in the enterprise.

In addition to improving product maturity, Chuyiqing New Energy is also actively promoting brand building at this stage. Therefore, all the battery cells currently used by Chuyiqing New Energy are from CATL. Zou Hai said: "The service life of a parking battery should be at least more than five years. The quality of CATL's battery cells, combined with the intelligent functions developed by the enterprise, helps to build the enterprise's brand image.

In the future, the company will provide customized products for more customers and even plans to combine energy storage with multi-field scenarios to build a derivative ecosystem around the battery, forming an ecological chain model similar to 'Mi Home'."

Currently, the pre-research work of the fifth product of Chuyiqing New Energy, "Budianbao", has been completed and it is about to enter the mass production stage. This is the most differentiated product of the company. Zou Hai revealed to 36Kr that this product is completely different from the existing solutions in terms of battery cells and electronic control schemes, which can reduce the R & D cost by about 40%. The original intention of developing this product is to promote the upgrade of commercial vehicles in the direction of "mild hybrid" and adapt to more transportation scenarios.

"Making new energy accessible" is the original intention of Zou Hai to enter the field of truck parking batteries and also the long-term vision of the enterprise. This vision does not stop at the parking battery track. In the future, Chuyiqing New Energy plans to expand its business to other small and medium-sized energy storage fields, helping more existing fuel trucks achieve "intelligent" upgrades and providing more comprehensive solutions for the transformation of traditional logistics enterprises.
