French satellite company Univity has completed its Series A financing and plans to become the "largest in Europe".
Univity, a satellite internet startup funded by the French government, announced on the 23rd that it has completed a Series A financing round totaling 27 million euros. This will advance its plan to launch thousands of satellites and become the largest satellite operator in Europe, helping Europe reduce its dependence on US satellite internet services. Univity plans to deploy up to 3,400 satellites in the very low Earth orbit. Once achieved, it will become the largest satellite operator in Europe. Currently, the "Starlink" project has approximately 10,000 satellites in orbit, while Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite plan intends to launch about 7,000 satellites into space. (Xinhua News Agency)
